TweetDeck Alternatives 2026: X Pro Is Now $40 a Month
Quick answer: X Pro, the dashboard almost everyone still calls TweetDeck, moved behind X's Premium+ tier on 26 March 2026. It now costs $40 a month, or $395 a year, and still only works with X. SocialRails is $29 a month for 9 platforms, Buffer is $6 per channel, and Typefully starts at $8.
If you last priced this up when TweetDeck was $8, that figure is five times out of date, and the switching maths has flipped: the alternatives are no longer the expensive option.

What Changed on 26 March 2026
X Pro used to come with the standard X Premium plan at $8 a month. On 26 March 2026 X moved it to Premium+ only. The change landed mid billing cycle with no announcement, so people who had already paid for Premium opened the dashboard and found it gone. X's position, reported at the time, was that features included in Premium are subject to change at any time.
Two things follow from that table, and both reverse what this page used to say:
- X Pro is not the cheap option any more. At $40 a month it costs more than every tool below except Hootsuite, and it still covers exactly one network.
- SocialRails is now $11 a month cheaper than X Pro, not $21 more expensive. That was the comparison this page ran for two years, and it stopped being true in March.
Why Look for TweetDeck Alternatives?
Quick Comparison
Only Hootsuite costs more than staying on X Pro, and it covers ten networks for the money.
Best TweetDeck Alternatives

1. SocialRails, Best Overall Alternative
Why choose SocialRails: It is $11 a month less than X Pro, and it posts to nine networks instead of one. That is $132 a year back while adding Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and the rest, plus AI captions and video templates. The one thing it does not try to copy is X Pro's live multi-column monitoring view.

2. Buffer, Simple Multi-Platform Scheduling
Why choose Buffer: If simplicity is your priority, Buffer offers the cleanest interface. Per-channel pricing works well for small account counts.
Best for: Solo creators managing 3-5 social accounts who want easy scheduling.

3. Hootsuite, Best for Large Teams
Why choose Hootsuite: For large teams needing social listening, advanced analytics, and stream-based monitoring. Its stream view is the closest thing on the market to X Pro's columns, which is the one job the cheaper tools here do not do. Note the $99 is per seat, so a three-person team is $297.
Best for: Agencies and enterprise social teams with budget for premium tools.

4. Typefully, Best for X/Twitter Writers
Why choose Typefully: If you write long-form X content or threads. It is the cheapest paid route on this page at $8, and annual billing takes about 20% off. Check the plan before you buy on the strength of the AI: writing assistance starts on Creator at $19, not on Starter.
Best for: X/Twitter content creators and writers who prioritize content quality over multi-platform reach.

6. Hypefury, X Growth Tool
Why choose Hypefury: Designed for X growth with auto-engagement features and sales integrations. Its $29 Starter plan covers one X account; the multi-account tiers climb steeply, so price the plan you actually need rather than the headline.
Best for: Creators and entrepreneurs using X for audience building and sales.

Free TweetDeck Alternatives
Reality check: TweetDeck was free from 2008 until July 2023, then $8 a month, and since 26 March 2026 it is $40. Nothing on the free list replaces its column view. If that view is what you are actually paying for, the honest options are Premium+ or Hootsuite, not a free scheduler.

Quick Answers
What's the best free TweetDeck alternative? Buffer's free plan (3 channels, 10 posts each) is the best free option with multi-platform support.
How much does TweetDeck cost now? $40 a month, or $395 a year. X Pro moved to the Premium+ tier on 26 March 2026; the $8 Premium plan no longer includes it.
Is there a TweetDeck alternative that's exactly like TweetDeck? No. The multi-column live interface is still unique. The closest experience is Hootsuite's stream view at $99/month per seat, which is more than Premium+. If the columns are the reason you are here, paying X the $40 is a defensible answer.
Which alternative has the best AI features? SocialRails includes AI content generation. Typefully and Hypefury have AI for X-specific content.
Can I manage X/Twitter for free? You can post and read on X for free, and the standard composer schedules single posts. Threads and the column dashboard are what you are paying for. Buffer's free plan gives you 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, which covers light use without an X subscription.
Bottom Line
X Pro is no longer the cheap default. At $40/month for a single-platform tool, every multi-platform alternative on this page except Hootsuite now costs less.
Best overall: SocialRails, multi-platform AI scheduling for $29/month, $11 less than X Pro
Best for X focus: Typefully, from $8/month, AI writing from $19
Best free option: Buffer, 3 channels free
Best for large teams: Hootsuite, stream monitoring at $99/month per seat
Still worth paying X: if the live column view is the whole job, Premium+ at $40 is the only product that has it.

How these numbers were checked: X Pro's move to Premium+ on 26 March 2026, and the $40/$395 Premium+ price, were reported independently by Engadget and MacRumors on the day. Competitor prices were read on the vendors' own pricing pages in August 2026, or taken from our own scheduler pricing breakdown, which was verified against those pages in July 2026.
